Last night I had a dream. It was simple with a simple interpretation. I was talking to one of my old church mothers from a previous church and she was wearing all black with the white collar around her neck. She was telling me how tired she was and that she was going to step down. I didn't understand it until now. Soon after I woke up God immediately have me the interpretation. My church mother represented the church and she was speaking of how the church was feeling. The church is tired and want rest.
Later on this morning as I was reading "Facing Your Giants" by Max Lucado, God confirmed the word He gave me through a dream. He was talking about David and the Brook Besor. Please read this story, it will bless you (I Sam chapter 30). Reading it in any version will bless you. One thing stuck out as I was reading (one of many), it was when Max Lucado said, "It's okay to rest. Jesus is your David, He fights when you cannot. He goes where you cannot. He's not angry if you sit. Did He not invite us to "Come off by ourselves: let's take a break and get a little rest." (Mark 6:31).
Many of us have been through tremendous, horrific, beyond stressful, frustrating, depressing, oppressing, tiresome things lately that left scars, open wounds, heavy hearts, heartache and or damaged faith. We are like those soldiers at the brook Besor, too tired to go on, too tired to fight anymore. We realize that we need to rest. We just can't do it anymore. It's okay. It doesn't mean to leave our spouse, quit our job or give our children up for adoption or to grandparents or give up on ministry, helping the hurt, bruised and hungry. However it does imply that we need to walk away, come aside and talk to the ONLY ONE that can restore us. David and the 400 other men went on to battle while the ones that were too tired to go on stayed at the brook Besor. Jesus is doing the same. The only difference is, He's already fought that battle for us. He's already conquered the graves that we continously keep trying to fight. He's already received the strips for that disease that ails your body. He's ALREADY encamped angels around your marriage, keeping the wayward women and men away from your spouse. He's already set up THE hospital for your loved ones that haven't found their way to Him yet. He's already been beaten, bruised and crucified for the sin you continue to commit and needs help getting over it. He's already traded His blood for the blood of your generational curse. HE HAS DONE IT ALL!!!
Not only that but the Bible said that "David will recover all" and "David recovered all" (I Sam 30 KJV). Even the ones who stayed behind at the brook and didn't go on to battle recovered spoils as well. David, the future king, knew the gifts of the battle and he shared. Just like our King, He has no respect of person. He sees the need for the gift, the spoils and fulfills it, even if it's undeserving. You will recover all!
Come aside with Him. Sit at the foot of your mountain with Jesus and rest. He may not move it but He will show you how to climb it and put it under your feet. That way it is not conquering you but you conquering it through Christ Jesus. Hallelujiah!!! We do not have to fight anymore. Give it to Jesus. Give him to Jesus. Give her to Jesus. Give them to Jesus. Give whatever it is to Jesus and rest from weariness, depression, oppression, heartache, heaviness and sorrow. Receive His love, joy, peace and "Come Thirsty". Soon enough, you will be back on your feet.
I pray in my heart...earnestly...that you receive this. You can recover from your fall : )
